What is Reiki?
Reiki is an ancient Japanese relaxation technique that promotes healing in all bodies: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. It comes from the Japanese words Rei and Ki; rei means "universal," and ki means "life energy."
Reiki practitioners act as a conduit between the client and the universal life force energy source.
What to Expect
During a session, you'll lie on the table fully clothed as your practitioner gently places their palms down to deliver a warm, light touch, promoting the flow and balance of energy.
Reiki energy flows through the practitioner's hands to the client. Reiki energy may be received through heat, tingling, or emotional release. Sometimes, people have visualizations or can feel the sensations moving through their bodies, while others may not notice more subtle changes. What's important to know is that the reiki energy flows regardless of the client's perceived experience.
In some cases, Reiki is received hands-off with the practitioner working through the auric field as they hover their hands above your body. The Reiki energy is still received even if you fall asleep during your session!
How to Prepare
There is nothing specific that you need to do to prepare. The best thing that you can do for yourself during our session is stay open and trust the reiki energy to provide you with exactly what you need. This is your invitation to a safe space where deep healing can occur. Sometimes energy is released as emotions, I invite you to honor them and go with the flow. The healing will continue on beyond your session, I recommend that you take it easy and honor your self-care following your appointment.
Transforming Through Reiki:
Reiki inspires me to be the purest vessel I can be. Reiki is divine love and light. It is universal; it is source; it is God; it is nature; it is whatever you believe in.
I grew up around Reiki, receiving this healing modality from my mom almost anytime I experienced pain, from a headache to a burn. She's been practicing Reiki for over 20 years, and I believe that her Reiki protection helped me in situations that likely could have been worse.
I was attuned to Reiki I & II as a teen, mainly practicing on myself, my pets, and with others in organized "Reiki Shares." In May 2021, I received my Reiki Master Certification and started offering private Reiki sessions in people's homes. In the Spring, I started renting a room to provide sessions in a more professional setting and realized I was ready to share this gift with others.
In April 2022, I hosted my first Reiki I and Reiki II Certification Classes and hosted again in February 2023. After a weekend of energetic immersion and trust, 7 beautiful humans graduated with their Reiki I and Reiki II Certifications. Hosting this 2-day class felt incredibly aligned, and I'm honored to share this ancient healing technique with others. Today I've certified over a dozen students and am honored to continue to share this transformative healing modality with others.

My experience with distant Reiki Healing-
Although I was skeptical at first, I have experienced and come to appreciate the power of distant Reiki during monthly Reiki Shares with other Reiki II practitioners. Curious how it works? During the Reiki II Certification Class, students learn the ancient symbol for distant healing. Energy doesn't know limitations...time or space. I even received my Reiki Master Certification virtually through Zoom. I felt like I could deeply surrender to the energy of the training because I was in the comfort of my own space.

What to expect-
Once we've scheduled our session together, you'll receive meeting details for our distant Reiki session via Zoom. Please wear comfortable clothing, find a relaxing position, and turn your notifications to do not disturb. I'll leave time at the end of our session for us to discuss anything we'd like to. Please be prepared to have your camera on for at least the discussion portion of our call.
How to prepare-
Arrive with an open heart, ready to receive. If you have specific questions, feel free to get in touch with me before our session. Plan to take it easy the remainder of the day after your session.

Request Distant Reiki Healing
If you would like to request distant reiki healing for yourself or someone that you love, please fill out this form. You will be added to McKenzie's personal reiki crystal grid and sent distant reiki every workday. As soon as you submit details, your request will be added for reiki healing. At the end of 2 weeks your request will be removed. You're welcome to resubmit your request or a new one after 2 weeks. If you feel inspired to share the benefits of receiving distant reiki healing please use this same form to report improvements and experiences since making your request.
